Partition won't mount

i have 2tb segate drive partitioned two, both hfs. larger partition has stopped showing , won't mount. when go disk utility in osx , try mount manually tells me run first aid. when try verify disk see error "invalid content in journal" , "the volume samsung 1 found corrupt , needs repaired."

however, when repair nothing comes of , still not mount.

ideas?

i believe of recent releases of "data recovery apps" such as:
- datarescue3
- disk drill
- stellar phoenix data recovery
- nice recover
....can restore damaged partition maps. not sure this, i've never tried myself.

first efforts should repair partition and/or directory portions of drive, assuming data remains intact , undisturbed.

if doesn't work, and...
there seems no way partition mount, and...
absolutely have data back...

....there another, last-ditch way go. must proceed @ own risk, worked me when nothing else would.

first - need external drive serve "scratch 'n' recovery" drive.

second - data on partitions of problem drive remain "mountable".

third - re-initalize problem drive, creating single partition (yes, re-initialize).
important important important
not, repeat not choose "zero out" drive initialize it. zero'ing drive wipes out actual data on drive's platters, , there nothing left recover.
want "quick re-initialization" wipes clean drive's _directory_ leaves actual data on drive untouched.
goal here entire drive "mountable on desktop" again. yes, appear "empty" (new, empty directory) -- old data still there!

fourth - use 1 of data recovery apps above search , scavenge newly-initialized drive, , recover files scratch 'n' recovery disk.

takes little money, effort, , time. that's how got data when looked "gone good", without resorting "data recovery service"....
