Change Carrier Name WITHOUT Jailbreaking

recently i've been wondering if it's possible change carrier name in menu bar on iphone without need jailbreak device.

research brought me this , though seems promising, have read ios 5 breaks "hack," if can call that.

have yet try method , wondering if out there has gotten work on ios 5. don't want risk majorly screwing things (otherwise i'd jailbreaking in first place) thought i'd ask advice on these forums.

thoughts? maybe there option haven't encountered...

you can't. ios 4.0 stopped supporting preference.
