iPhone Contacting the iPhone software update server... (5.1 related)

hello all.

having no end of troubles getting download begin 5.1

running lion, on 27inch imac i7, have updated latest software including todays releases. here attempted update iphone 4s 16gb white , seeing message in itunes. (connected via usb)

"contacting iphone software update server"

far have

-disabled little snitch

-repaired permissions

-dropped wifi , switched ethernet

-rebooted twice

-cache cleaned ( ccleaner )

@ loss cause of issue, iphone not jailbroken nor has ever been.

sincerely hope can me sort this.

had same issue earlier. mbp running 10.7.3 trying update 4s 5.1.

issue lasted hour of trying me. seems lasting longer you, not longer.

seems it's overloaded server. turned off firewall, updated itunes , rebooted computer several times, no avail. took time , patience.

luck, can update soon!
