MBP 5.5 Win XP on 10.7, Not enough free space!

i'm running 10.7.3 on mbp 13 mid 2009 model.

problem hdd 160gb , have 16.8gb free space on it. other data important , can't delete it.

want install xp performance edition on system. hoping create partition of 10gb using latest bootcamp , win7 installation disc , later proceed install xp on it.

problem after doing repair disk(boot-time) , repair disk permissions i'm still getting boot camp requires 10gb of free space on it.

there work around this?

in advance.

hmm not can think of.

options:
-backup external media/location.
-upgrade hd in mbp
-create free space (move of data temp location), install, sorted, copy data on.

sounds need have clear out of stuff though.
