i've been teaching myself capabilities of esxi on mac hardware lion supported in order evaluate possibilities client base.
in process, i've been testing limits. have set lion server guest vm, along couple of others. test of limits, i've set radeon 5870 pass through guest lion system. surprise, it's functioning well, suspected to bomb initially.
issue that, while appear have quartz extreme functioning , benchmarking @ 80% of native os x, opengl benchmarking crippled. while researching, found os x listing gpu generically radeon 5000 proper amount of vram, i'm suspecting may driver-related.
know it's stretch, have insight on possible solutions this? i'm not under impression i'm magically going have virtualized gaming rig, excited make progress have opengl performance improved.
os x legally allowed virtualized under esxi? awesome if it's true. thought make mac vm under fusion?
if "benchmarking" vm , testing out graphics power in wrong reasons. people don't run vms play games or watch movies. run vms servers , floating desktops. unless clients 18 year old gamers shouldn't worry display drivers labeled.
if gaming intent parallels better you, performs better stuff that.
