Should I just keep requesting checks from Paypal, or is there a (secure) alternative?

i use paypal big chunk of freelance writing transactions. since i'm paranoid hackers getting mitts on dough, till have had new amount enters paypal account mailed me check. extreme? maybe, seems safer me linking paypal directly bank account, etc. (i have linked small credit card never use). downside, of course, costs me $1.50 per check , takes days , days money. paypal debit card make sense an alternative, or there known security issues them?

idk pp debit cards. i've never used 1 , don't plan either. don't idea of linking pp main bank account, if needed create new bank account pp.
