MBP Late 2011 13" - battery drains completely after overnight in sleep mode

hi everyone

got mbp in october - first apple laptop i'm still learning...

leave battery in sleep mode overnight , come in morning , won't turn on cos battery has drained completely.

used leave windows laptop in hibernate mode , didn't drain battery....but sleep mode mbp

left on sleep last night , had planned taking uni morning can't cos needs charged - on 1% when plugged charger in!

because left hooked external monitor, or maybe because left wireless mouse (microsoft one) in?

bit worried know should happening....

on note - slept in late today - uni starts @ 11.15am , eyes still opening here , it's 10.30am ...eek!! - have 20min drive there
