i trying simplify home theater setup of linux nettop (mythtv, occasional web content) , appletv (gen 1) mac mini. major sticking point seems lack of "nice" airtunes capability on mini.
sole purpose of our appletv has been serve remote speaker our laptops. specifically, nice feature of cover art , song/album info.
have looked airserver, xbmc 11, , plex (not quite relevant doesn't support airplay). xbmc technically support airplay, doesn't have cover art , album info. feeling airserver same, haven't been able see confirmation.
have suggestions? want keep control of music selection , playing on laptops. think @ point if wish keep interface, have keep atv hardware in mix. wrong!
