Lid closed, able to access through iCloud, still on?

my macbook has been sleeping , waking quite erratically lately. when open lid screen comes on , switches off. rectify have close , reopen , jiggle mouse around bit open fully. it's intermittent problem though.

noticed yesterday though macbook @ home lid shut, can still access through mac leads me believe it's not hibernating when lid closed. white light come on @ front when close lid, don't think it's pulsing.

feature of mac or need reset macbook's power management?
