External HDD works on Mac but not windows?

hey there,

bit of searching around, seems rather confusing topic, , no-one seems have answer

have iomega hdd , use space on mac time. want files on pc (111gb) onto hdd, wipe pc , install windows again , put of files on. however, when connect hdd pc, says; "the disk in drive g not formatted."


there way can use hdd on both mac , pc? , can't copy files mac there 700gb of data on hdd , 240gb on mac.

mac , pc harddrives formatted differently no won't able use between both machines.
