Tethering from new ipad - can it stay always on ?

hello everyone,

friend ipad lte next week work telus in canada (my question not carrier, how tethering works).

cannot internet form cable or dsl because live far away, have lte connection in area... ?!?

anyway, right have usb 3g computer , she's paying 50$ per month 1g data. want ipad , since it's 35$ per month 5g , it's lte not 3g, want tether ipad instead of usb key , save lot of money...

sooo question : if ipad connected power source , hotspot active (do not care if it's usb cable, bluetooth or wifi), ipad stay on , share connection day without touching ?
