What mail clients do you use?

hi guys,i'd know wich mail clients use?
today running activity monitor (leopard) , saw mail.app uses 16-20% cpu without doing nothing..i guess lot app this.
don't need great features,just simple , light mail client compatible gmail , allows me use imap accounts, suggestion?

in 10.4 used latest thunderbird here:http://www.rpm-mozilla.org.uk/
doesn't seem light too..
should try older versions or there better?
