iPod Touch 4G No "iPod Sync Complete" message?

i've got ipod touch 1g , 4g. 1g still says "ipod sync complete" message it's safe disconnect in itunes 10.6.1, ipod 4g, upgraded ios 5.1 4.x, doesn't such thing. sync wheel stops spinning , if saying copying photos or whatever; disappears. find strange tell me it's safe disconnect 1 not other or new ios 5.1 ok disconnecting in middle of sync? i'm using old powermac ppc server cannot sync via wifi, have thought disconnecting in middle of sync bad thing. more point, message know when it's done.

else's ipod 4g ios 5.1 behave way or amiss here?
