Macbook Pro Warranty confusion

i'm wanting purchase brand new macbook pro 15" friend, 1 got insurance claims. brand new , not opened.

entered serial number online check warranty status returns invalid, i'm assuming because havnt opened registered macbook yet? if case how find out purchase date of macbook rough idea of when warranty expire?

it should show either in warrenty or expired.

u may have put in serial number wrong, try again
