a while ago wanted auto-hide menu , dock always, i'm annoyed it, want undo did it.
on os x version 10.5.8
i'm going sound idiot don't know did computer. googled few things , tried download .plist editor wouldn't open, trashed , deleted it, , tried few others, , deleted when wouldn't work. after 5 or 6 tries menu , dock auto-hide when finder active application, wanted, stopped , left it.
decided don't auto-hide anymore, tried undo process thing did bang monkey wrench against computer until worked. did finder search stuff ending in .plist, , tried edit them, , when didn't work deleted them hoping failsafe kick in , reset how when first got it.
have no idea begin, have no files end in .plist can find.
want default settings had before messed stuff. i'm worried may have done bad computer.
did use menubarhider?
suggest create , keep text file lists "customization" mac. list terminal commands you've entered, plist modifications, plug-ins, add-ons, extensions, etc. not in situations have now, in replicating changes on other computers or sharing tips others.
