RAM Sticks confused...PC3-8500 V. PC3-10600

hi, went onto crucial , downloaded software, way i'd knew kind of ram mid 2010 imac needed. software gave me these results:

8gb kit (4gbx2), 204-pin sodimm, ddr3 pc3-10600 memory module

friend selling 2 sticks (same ^) except description differ, here's is:

8gb kit (4gbx2), 204-pin sodimm, ddr3 pc3-8500 memory module

pc3-#'s different... mean sticks of ram aren't compatible imac? want make sure before buying since sticks new, once open them, i'm stuck them.

your friends ram lower speed ram, they'll work wouldn't want them.
