Question about unlocked iPhone 4

i have iphone 4 have put together(using 2 iphones, both different problems), anyway, have locked iphone(bell) , when insert sim(petro-canada) says "no service" @ top.


concern here phone's antenna not working @ all, may wrong because not sure if should still carrier @ top left when not unlocked , has different sim in it.


question is: iphone still show carrier's name of inserted sim while phone unactivated , sim not bell one?

sim work. use in ipad

it not show carrier unless matches carrier it's locked
