Help (Error=12)

i have major project due in fcp in few days , ran following problem;

systems show plenty of memory yet autosave comes on , fcp won't let me voice on saying...."insufficient memory quit unused applications or install more system memory".

checked console , shows err0r code=12

if system has plenty of memory what's going on???

please help....a panicked trial , error guy!

 

you didn't specify version of final cut using, , neither os x version…

i'll assume using fcp 6 or 7. it's possible project has become large. these versions of fcp notorious being limited in quantity of ram can access, if had 128 gb ram in machine wouldn't change anything. if "get info" on project file, how weigh ?

workaround can try , create blank new project , copying sequence on editing project. save new project new name, close old project , restart final cut and/or machine. @ least let record voice over.

can record voice on directly in quicktime player 7 pro , quicktime player x. lets save files aiffs can import final cut. specify audio source in system preferences.

problem files have imported recently. sepcifically images such high resolution jpeg/psd/tiff files may cause final cut slow tries load whole file ram, thereby reducing available space other tasks.
