Recover an accidentally initialized drive

i accidentally plugged mac osx external hard drive windows computer , initialized it. there way recover data? program out there?

know, should stop writing processes actual hdd. if same hdd 1 operating system (os) resides on, better use external hdd mac os x on boot , install data rescue or filesalvage onto scan hdd data has been accidentally deleted.
