hi there,
i'm experiencing strange issue mac book pro snow leopard.
mac won't reply ping commands issued on other hosts within same network.
ip stand point of view hosts within same subnet 192.168.1.0/ 255.255.255.240.
pinging 2 other machines mac's ip address , no reply @ all. when pinging mac other hosts, icmp replies have switched off firewall, , while firewall on have unchecked stealth mode, no results.
i've created new location , no icmp replies when pinging mac 's ip address other machines within network.
in attempt isolate issue directly connected mac computer via crossover cable, , got same symptoms
there unix command reset tcp ip socket. icmp part of tcp ip stack , reinstalling or resetting socket should fix problem...i guess
) or there command in unix can force deactivating firewall.
reinstalling whole os or deleting system preferences settings using hammer in stead of scalpel.
thank in advance advice , patience.
more details.
other machines? they have firewall getting in way?
