Boot Camp Issues - Windows XP SP2 OEM - Black Screen White Flashing Dash

hi there, i've joined , im having issues boot camp. have 2008 imac 2.4ghz core 2 duo running leopard (10.5.8) , have bought windows xp sp2 oem disc ebay must of been dell. have been trying 2 hours trying install windows on boot camp keep on getting black screen flashing white line, 1 -

when trying install disc pops out, stick in, screen says 'insert disc' in nothing happens! sooo fed , have spent lot of money since had purchase idefrag defrag hard drive partition. windows partition 35gb , when system restarts apparently 'install', black screen/white flashing line , no setup screens or anything!! have tried installing through restart, holding down alt key, selecting windows disc same outcome!!

did have boot camp running win xp sp3 year ago, said 'illegal' , had deleted. sooooo fed , annoyed right now, can shed light on issue , me??

oem install discs won't work of time, contain drivers hardware manufacturer. you'll need actual microsoft disc.
