NuShield DayVue Screen Protector - a serious contender for the title

i installed nushield dayvue screen protector on ipad 2, , usurp power support crystal favorite screen protector ipad.

i've tried number of different brand protectors, , until ps never satisfied quality. ps crystal first , protector @ time had no discernible orange peel texture, rainbowing, effect on tactile response or effect on optical clarity.

notwithstanding i've been satisfied ps protector, came across nushield website , intrigued claim dayvue protector anti-reflective ("ar") protector. wears glasses familiar ar lens coatings, in nutshell ar differs anti-glare in latter works diffusing/scattering light means of matte texture (yes, know, that's not , technically accurate, it's adequate purposes hereof), whereas ar works cancelling reflections out of phase wavelength reflections (grossly simplified again). optical perspective, difference anti-glare films, design, have adverse effect on optical clarity, whereas ar coatings not. if you've seen glossy lcd or plasma panel that, when off, gives faint purplish hue reflections - had ar coating on screen.

wondered why there didn't seem ar protectors iphone or ipad know alot of people, me, love reduction in reflections without deleterious effect on clarity anti-glare protectors have. turns out, nushield has been making such protectors (the "dayvue" line) time now, whatever reason didn't come across them until last week. of course ordered 1 , installed morning, , here initial observations:

pros:

-substantial reduction in reflections , night , day versus ps.

-no discernible orange peel texture, rainbowing or other effect on optical clarity. equal in every way ps.

cons:

-a tad "grabbier" (i.e., more finger friction) ps or bare screen in terms of tactile feel. not noticeable light or normal pressure, pressing down harder on screen can result in grabbiness.

-if anything, protector seems enhance , amplify fingerprints. pure speculation on part, i'm guessing because oil residue fingerprints comprised of more reflective ar coating, making fingerprints stand out. fingerprints haven't bothered me @ on ps crystal, more prominent protector.

-requires frequent cleaning because when protector covered fingerprint oils, ar qualities diminished if not eliminated.

-home button cutout u-shaped cutout extends bottom of protector opposed circular cutout surrounds button itself. aesthetically, drive me crazy if weren't using case covers entire home button , bezel anyway.

overall, protector , preliminary conclusion prefer ps crystal because of ar qualities. "preliminary" because i'll have give more time see how fingerprint issue bothers me , detracts ar benefits.

few pics. find screen protector pictures pointless because shouldn't able see of anything, it's different protector. pay particular attention difference between home button , area beneath it, not covered protector, , rest of screen. home button area appears lighter/whiter in first 2 pictures because reflecting white ceiling above ipad, , in last picture can pretty see difference in prominence of reflections.

would interested see it's in long run -- i.e. how ar coating holds up, considering sgp's oleophobic coating seems lose effectiveness on time.
