upgrade to lion details?

ok have 13" 2011 mbp iv been thinking upgrade lion, havent been convinced to, mountain lion coming, theres features appealing me, dependant on 1 thing.

if upgrade lion via appstore, have input of serials again? not want do, have many programes serial nums stored away in boxes , hoarder out pain, experience this?

 

you can install lion on snow leopard - chose fresh install , reinstall everything.
