hello,

first not complaint or noise, technical update know happened, can helpful future customers.

have 2 x macbook pro's 2011 model,

1 x macbook pro 13" i7 dc 2.7 intel graphics
1 x macbook pro 15" i7 qc 2.3 amd6750m + intel graphics

ordered couple of weeks ago 2 x kits of 16gb [2x8gb] of csx memory, received few days ago , put 1 kit in mbp 13, , other in mbp15.

mbp 13 stable, use nonstop final cut production - no issues.

mbp 15 on other hand, unstable. crashing @ random, , cannot complete benchmark or load test, if has graphics. e.g., crash when doing 3d or video work immediately. in windows, graphical 3d type application starts working or rendering, system crash "amd driver has stopped responding, restarted driver" - mac os x has no such functionality, when crashes system blows out still sitting on display, mouse moves around, no response click, impossible logon ssh either. e.g. fubar status.

so, thought - ok - let's diagnose.

a) put original 2 x 2gb 10600s (apple) modules in mbp 15 - stable again, no crashes, after !! 40 hours of far cry 2 benchmark running loops on , on again, temps 90-95c during 40 hours - not single crash or problem.

b) swapped memory 16gb working, stable mbp 13, crashing mbp 15

c) tried testing again, expecting mbp 13 start crashing, , 15 stable.

guess -

mbp 15 crashing again same way 16gb ram mbp 13.

- synopsis:

* mbp 13 operational / stable csx ram (16gb)
* mbp 15 not stable csx ram (16gb)

therefore, ordered , paid samsung 16gb kit (2x8gb) mbp 2011, work.

fortunately able put kit of 16gb (csx) wife's 13" i5 2011 mbp, , works absolutely fine , stable.

strange, know seems mb 15 has hardware failure, doesn't - works absolutely original 2 x 2gb memory apple, , original 2 x 4gb 10600s imac 27 have.

seems weird memory dimm can cause ati card stop functioning. funny thing if use gfxcard control force integrated only, 16g 15" work absolutely days. think it's because ati card uses memory system on , above it's 1g built in memory.

samsung modules (which cost twice much) work.

best regards guys

okay...

did ram come from?
