FCP can't have 2 FW ports connected at same time

hello new fcp 5.0.4 have setup using media 100p trying convert on fcp on quad core g5 ppc. problem finding in original system have firewire input cam , firewire output canopus box view on large tv screen @ same time. however, fcp cannot seem log , capture if firewire port still connect canopus box. can't see firewire selection in various options say..” use 1 cam in , use 1 canopus box”. on media 100p system canopus box appeared in list of devices make decision wanted system know.. assuming missing simple menu somewhere not found yet,, appreciated john

 

i haven't used quite while, canopus recognized capture device. fcp can have 1 connected @ time. iirc, daisy chained camera canopus. however, output monitor didn't work then.
sadly, seems can have 1 or other.
if need external monitoring while capture, try if can find old kona card ppc on ebay. im not sure, though, if can send signal card during capture.
