recover crashed imac internal hard disk by connecting it to another mac

hey guys,
imac stopped working , geniuses in apple store said need change hard drive. after lil whining did free, have lot of documents ands stuffs in old hard drive. got old hard drive crashed inside mac, , dont know kinda wires need have connect mac. plz give som suggestions how manage connect , recover atleast of datas crashed hardisk.

suggestion: usb2 models can found dirt-cheap. if want "think forward" little, 1 has usb3. macs in future have usb3, , worth paying little for...
