first time ever jailbreaking. have cydia. reset itself, don't know do.

how install new themes? tried install one, said needed more sources?

easiest way install themes use winterboard. search on cydia , install go cydia > sections > scroll down themes (springboard) , check them out see like. springboard means home screen.
