iMac Firmware Update Failed, Constant Restarting

27" 2010 imac, on 10.6.8

tries apply firmware update apparently has happened because goes small ways , turns computer off. cannot break loop.

cannot boot dvd or show me drives holding option. can command line using cmd+s

tips??

 

if imac can verify location of firmware file (/utilities/?) boot single user mode, mount file system , rm file. no payload pull may still keep cycle going. maybe remove file pram zap , cross fingers.
