Photo slideshow on TV, via Universal Dock + HDMI

i want show photo slideshow on large screen tv. tv accept hdmi or vga connections, not component. wish able use apple remote dock pause , skip photos on slideshow.

i've found out dav cable not work universal dock (sort out apple!) other options have without spending on new hardware?

1 of cheap + nasty ebay docks include hdmi , ir port trick?
