hi all
sometimes, i'm use mail connect imap account.
thing is, issue using imap isp, not gmail.... problem must isp. because pop works fine.
problem stems fact happens, usually, imap server doesn't respond, mail prompted user enter password via popup prompted (attached).
no mater do, keep coming time time. isp saying apple issue, think otherwise. tried on both ssl , 143 no solution.
removing keychain, looks workaround, doesn't take long popup come back.
"remember password" checkbox doesn't either, keeps coming up... again not imap, isp. must suggest due isp, gmail users imap , connects fine time mail.
suggestions apart using pop ?

update
update.
i've been on phone isp, , did telnet commend, testing outlook removing , re-adding mail account didn't help, i'm coming closer problem.
i've traced connection error down fact "only" happens after sending email out using imap. checking emails, time random.
in cases, telnet passed,,,, meaning isp's perspective anyway, client issue ..... mail clients ?
how can be.
he's screenshot apple mail showing again ok.
between these 2 screenshots takin, nothing altered in keychain or accounts in apple mail.. thing testing in windows.
1 other point... may have been "at split second" kind of thing. running test in outlook in windows had apple mail open. after sending via outlook, receive test mail via apple mail (noticed badge icon), not in outlook. again client issue ?? maybe, come though eventually, think "at time" kind of thing.
i've got windows 2003 server , exchange 2007 on cd , office 2007, may set on local network (within vm's) test, know why doesn't happen gmail.
update #2.. think slipped 1 place though.. not sure, when telnet test, must test on troubled port ?
eg. since send test, check , fails.... should checking receiving port (via telnet), not sending port? if so, solution.
