good evening,
wife taking accounting courses , of discs books require windows os of 1 kind or another. both running leopard (10.5.8) , trying find least expensive yet sensible way accomplish this.
considering using parallels 7 student download ($39.00) , purchasing windows 7 home edition have found here , there $100 or so.
being said, have 0 experience installing , running these kinds of programs. simple? need install anti-virus though running in mac os environment?
appreciated, going use duration of school year unless needs job in future.

mark,

yes, working parallels quite easy if experienced user. installing win 7 on simple well, , goes usual.

commend not install anti-virus software @ all, or use free 1 such avira/avast/clamav/etc. because parallels have snaphots feature. follow more details: http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/features/snapshots
(i'm not sure if snapshots included in student edition or not)

may want consider virtualbox free alternative parallels, note has harder learning curve.
