20" iMac (2008) as a second monitor for another 20" iMac

i've searched answer, things little tangled between external monitors , new imacs have more display-sharing options.

have 2 20" imacs - mid-2007 model , early-2008 model. both identical, save 2008 1 having 2.6ghz intel core 2 duo proc vs 2.4ghz proc in 2007 model.

want use 1 of machines second monitor other.

possible? have found screenrecycler app seems offer functionality, i'm little wary looks little out of date (lion version still in beta).

airdisplay, available via mac app store (mas) might better suited you.
