Smart cover damage?


hi.

heard few months ago smart covers damage side of ipad, in wear off aluminium.

has been using 1 on long term period can info , story?

i'd love use smart cover + screen protector, i'm bit hesitant. google search giving me mixed results. help?
 

i had mine on of time, did take off (at least twice day) short periods. never once did damage ipad in way. small parts of aluminum on actual smart cover darkened bit, though. ipad never damaged.
