got mybook studio ii (http://wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=210) , connect imac via firewire800.
configured raid 1 .. discovered video editing slow. have both project , event imovie folder on but, each action on project rainbow ball games up.
tried copy on imac hdd project folder nothing changes.
can confirm me because of raid 1 , if configure raid 0 should fine?
having files locally on hdd of imac have no such delays.

well, doing bit of research, , drive have using western digital green drive, has slower rpm needed 7200 rpm, though have fw800 drive isn't using potential, i'm quite sure isn't raid , this, if else has more knowledge please feel free make me fool
also, files in prores? i'm not sure if imovie same final cut 7 if you're clips in apple prores codec easier on machine aswell may out in need speed.
