Highest OS on a 1.2 GHz iBook with 256 RAM??

hey guys, purchased excellent condition ibook $50. computer literally flawless, couldn't pass dea. purchased tiger 10.4.11 on ebay, , did fresh install. computer works great backup me. noticed though not many things compatible 10.4.11, want go higher os if possible. question is, can go to?

computer 1.2 ghz powerpc g4, 256 ram.

have no problem upgrading ram if have to. think can go 1gb of ram? correct?

so, guess question is, specs.. what's highest os can go without upgrading ram? , highest can go if upgrade ram? worth it?

 

10.4 highest, though can try 10.5, needs @ least 768 mb ram officially. , maximum ram ibook 1.25 gb ram, buying 1 gb stick suffice.

ps: people have time 10.5 on g4 ibooks, have had bad time (like me).
