[Help] Making themes for Winterboard on iOS5

hey guys, i'm new both these forums , iphone jailbreaking/theming.

have decided start theming iphone bit using winterboard, rid of linen texture in ios5 (which bugs me) , make notes , reminders app, , perhaps calculator app less skeumorphic.

while have managed achieve former mostly, i'm practically lost latter. want extract default ui images apps , mod them there, when tried using phone disk , copying png images over, turn out "corrupted". therefore know how extract these images can displayed on computer? or there perhaps sort of template can use?

linen texture, have replaced instances of it, except in 3 places: in maps app, notification center pull-down tab appears when in full-screen app, , volume slider in app switcher bar. i'm not sure these images are, or how replace them. help?

it takes while figure outwhere is, instead of trying theme using winterboard, why not use ifile on phone , ifunbox on pc or mac manipulate code want?

curious. has taken me month know on ipad , iphone, know common file naming , on. feel time spent worth it. i'm not big fan of winterboard.

notes , rest, find .png file looking under var/stash/applications/mobilenotes or substitute last name forcalendar or whatever. additionally, need replicate file properties of file replacing. there alittle blue arrow on right side of file name. click open , you'll see thefile properties. thing 'mobile mobile, read, write, mread, read date , time file last changed.' make sure new .png has exact same properties. luck.

hope helps?

p.s. if use photoshop alter png images, makesure same pixel size when finish. should not run corruption. , highly recoomend using ifunbox pull imagesoff phone pc.
