heat , noise (battery too) important how comfortably use mobile notebooks. in similar way don't have think heat , noise on ipads, , unlike pre-2010 mbas, heat , noise never issue 2010 11" mba ultimate normal use (browsing, videos, typing etc). have never thought eg "better close tabs" or "i should lift sofa few mins" etc.
note there's fair bit more discussion on heat , noise in 2011 11" mbas , (along worse battery) among reasons didn't upgrade immediately.
2010 11" mba ultimate used intel su9600 1.6ghz c2d @ 10w tdp , it's been working treat. had nvidia gpu chipset though don't know tdp on was.
ivy bridge line-up appears show 2 options 2012 11" mba:
1) core i5 3427u - 1.8ghz, turbo 2.6ghz - 2.8ghz @ 17w tdp
2) core i7 3667u - 2.0ghz, turbo 3.0ghz - 3.2ghz @ 17w tdp
there possibly further ivy bridge mobile processors announced , have thoughts on heat/fans/battery on 22nm ivy bridge mba non-intensive use?
i can't think of other viable intel cpus 2012 11". configurable tdp feature should improve performance when charging , battery when.. on battery (duh), 17w can tuned or down on demand.
