pictures and tags don't update in shared folder

hi all,
have itunes folder shared wife's account on our imac.

when add new files itunes folder, click file, add library. new files carried across correct artwork etc. wife's account.

access folder read didn't want folder become corrupted multiple users.

unfortunately if subsequently change artwork etc on original files, doesn't update on wife's itunes, if 'add library' again.

can please? have tried sorts of things , can't artwork update.
