i need voice-over work on 2011 imac rented microphone, xlr cable , adapter school’s media pool. people there assured me job trusted them. when home , plug imac’s audio in port, however, find recording has barely volume when input slider set max (any lower , picks nothing)
there i’m doing wrong here? i’ve read online need powered mic, not sure if 1 or not, imagine since can pick audio. again can’t seem find batteries mic (or anywhere put them) knows.
thoughts?
the audio in port line level audio. microphone needs phantom power work aka mic jack. not found on imac default. need kind of powered input usb mic adapters can found @ local best buy ect.
