27" iMac Lighting Issue

i have 27" imac , having problem backlight. if looking @ screen, right half of screen brighter left half of screen. have tried adjusting settings, taking off auto-brightness, etc no luck.

ideas or suggestions?

 

i have same problem on 2011 imac (27') bought in may. tried (reset smc, pram...), , appears many people have problem, , left part dimmer right 1 (which case too).

apparently, problem because power source situated on left part of screen , generates lot of heat.

consequence, bought applecare (hey, having problem after 9 months, i'd better buy applecare ), , asked apple repair in april. think they'll change backlight system (or whole computer ?).

yes, annoying problem , apparently quite common, unfortunately.
