when our office purchases new mbp's, able compare them , select best unit based on benchmarks, etc. 1 tiny bit faster, or cosmetically little better..
anyway, onto point. noticed in our recent purchase not seen before. 1 mbp 17" takes extremely long time "chime" between pram resets. test on own unit, hold option-cmd-p-r on @ boot time. many units seem take 35 seconds initial boot second chime (when holding down keys), 1 unit have - , 1 - takes twice long...
run this? unit otherwise unremarkable , shows no errors or malfunctions. in fact, benches best of lot, why i'm asking question.
how long takes pretty meaningless. question is, why resetting nvram in first place?
