iMac G3

i offered imac g3 friend , wondering os runs better on machine

specs are:
ruby imac dv
400 mhz power pc g3
128 mb of ram (i have 1 gb of ram sitting put in it)
10 gb hard drive (i have 40 gb hdd too)
cd-rom drive

wondering os runs better on it?

jaguar or panther?
either way i'm gonna dual boot machine os 9.2.2

i'm not sure 1 install

 

why not go jaguar if have cds , see how suits you? worked fine me on imac g3 (a later generation yours). did upgrade panther , preferred jaguar. it's excellent os in fact, though jaguar decent.

there doubtless various technical reasons why 1 of these os releases best option particular imac model, if you're upgrading memory , hard drive maybe panther turn out better choice.

maybe else on forum can confirm sure best option? sorry can't more helpful.
