just bit of info me. have owned 2011 11" mba 6 months due eyestrain decided larger mac. decided upon 13" 2011 macbook air after spending time reading reviews , using laptop several hours @ store.
1. screen real estate seems larger. did not think 2 inches make of difference does. personal opinion , might not feel same. not feel eyestrain having 11" after several hours of using laptop.
2. there more wrist room. don't find myself hitting edge of laptop while typing. feels more comfortable when using computer long periods of time.
3. fans seem have different audible frequency compared 11" macbook air. best way can describe fans seem larger giving deeper sound. find sound more pleasant , not obtrusive. kind of comparing sound of blow dryer(11"mba) compared small table top portable fan(13"mba).
4. battery life. happy battery life indeed better on 13" rated 7 hours uses closer 6. consistently got around 4 hours 11".
5. screen tear: there appear more instances of screen tear when utilizing video playback things netflix in fullscreen mode. can guess due larger screen / higher resolution being more taxing on processor & hd3000. isn't bad though , seems happen during beginning first few seconds of watching video right after finished loading ( have 25mbps internet 65ms latency internet speed not issue on this).
6. temperatures: laptop seems stay cooler. attribute larger case , fans allow more heat dissipation. don't notice fans running 13".
thats far. if notice else i'll post update. far happy making decision upgrade 13".
