Transferring 2tb in media from PC internal drives to MBA

i want move data ntfs pc mba through tbd , external drive (haven't bought yet). realize if want keep backup hfs+ transfer needs initiated mba side, i.e. can't hook external drive pc because doesn't write hfs.

fastest way connecting them both through router , tbd fw800 external? suppose debatable if worth cost fw 1 time transfer vs usb.

seagate's tb dock has me tempted switch away wd, stories of drives cooking in enclosures (2010 3tb free agent) has me worried.

 

just share windows drive , transfer on network
