new sound heard

i have had mac book pro year , started hearing new sound today ( may have been there along , noticed today) sound on moving air , or hard drive spinning in lower right quadrant right of track pad. using computer in quiet room may normal sound first heard because of surrounding conditions. fan located in portion of unit?
