Rescuing my OSX files via Win7 (Fried OSX Partition)

hello!

running: mbp mid-2009 snow leopard , win7 partitions via bootcamp.

after trying safe mode, disk utility, , fsck commands, have encountered "invalid sibling link" error , must rebuild both operating systems on fresh install. has impacted osx partition, win7 accessible , operational (though go ahead , rebuild winclone redo osx).

fortunately important work on external hd (seagate drive compatible both mac , pc), there files foolishly hadn't backed , recover via win7.

when drag files mac hd onto drive via win7, appears copy files fine. however, it's important these files readable/accessible/editable through osx on new install on old one. being new kind of thing, don't know if formatting or "read-only" attributes on folders impact or if these going usable files.

essentially, need know how archive osx files on external hd through win7 in way allow me access them , have them function did on old osx installation.

thank you!
