New Mac User - Problem connecting MBA to network attached external hard drive


hi,

newbie macs here..... stupid question cannot work out....

have external hard drive connected wireless router via usb. pc laptop see , stream music , video it..

new mba won't let me , keeps coming error message - see screenshot below.

when first got lion, remember having firmware updates nas drives. model of nas drive connecting , how old it? might need firmware update lion see properly. option connect guest (no password) because if remember correctly, issue had encrypted logins.
