i hoping 10.7.3 fix it, alas.
since last os x update i've had issues using 11" 2011 macbook air external monitor. revolve around clamshell mode , using only external display instead of display mirroring or extension. prior 10.7.2 if closed lid external display connected screen flash blue , computer output solely external display. wake machine sleep if closed connected monitor, , in same case external display output.
since update (and accompanying gpu driver update) way can solely use external display if reboot or power on machine lid closed. pain, if i'm waking sleep, , i'd love figure out way restore previous functionality.
have late 2010 15" macbook pro , i've confirmed ati card problem not exist (i can clamshell mode closing screen or waking sleep fine) that's down different graphics card.
solutions? i've googled , found variety of similar issues going way before september update nothing seems spot on.
not sure if maybe you've changed setting or not.
haven't tried in 10.7.3 came out last night
10.7.2 me behaved in way described @ first. plug in while closed, press power button on keyboard resume sleep. never having open mba @ all.
