Old OS10.2.8

hello, have g4 os10.2.8. update system software, know of programs on no longer work, i'd external hard drive. there way it? new hard drives need os10.5 don't know how able that. main concern 9000 photos have in iphoto. i'd put them on hard drive hook our tv , see photos in slideshow.
help.

 

i'm not aware of hard drive requires os 10.5.

didn't model g4 was, i'd guess ide hard drive (they're called pata drives now).

know of older macs have hard time "big" hard drives (bigger 120 gb) upgrade choices limited, have options.

depending on specs (cpu speed , ram) can go 10.5.

files up, can use firewire or usb hard drives.
plug in external drive big enough , can copy iphoto library it.

why of programs on no longer work?
referring classic applications? can work on 10.4.
