Best "bridge" Mac to connect OS9 and Lion?

given how lion doesn't support appletalk anymore, feasible way pass files between lion imac , os9 emac via firewire hard drive. read article on lowendmac how powerbook ideal bridge mac connect different mac oses, since don't use system 7 or 8, thinking maybe can use g4 mini running tiger bridge mac. thoughts?
